The pandemic that we are currently experiencing is due to COVID-19, an infectious disease caused by the Coronavirus which emerged in December 2019. The most common symptoms caused by this virus are fever, dry cough, and tiredness. Other symptoms may include, nasal congestion, headache, sore throat and in some cases, diarrhea.

At AXA Assistance USA Inc. (AXA), we have implemented work from home orders to continuously provide assistance to our customers and to continue to monitor the progress and changes that different countries are experiencing as a result of the pandemic. We continue to assist our customers on a regular basis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the event of a medical emergency requiring the assistance of a doctor and / or local hospitalization.

Our licensed agents are available from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00pm (CST) to provide support and information to all our customers who have questions about their plan, benefits, coverage or any general questions about their travel protection plans. As a result of the increase in the volume of calls, our wait times may be longer than normal, however, our email is also available in which we can answer customers inquires at:

Due to the World Health Organization declaring the Coronavirus a Global Health Warning on January 30, 2020, it no longer qualifies as an unforeseen event. Please note that for trip cancellations and trip interruptions, this event does not qualify as an unforeseen event under the terms and conditions of the AXA Travel Protection Plans.  Policies for travel purchased prior to January 24, 2020, may only provide coverage in the event of a trip delay, trip cancellation or trip interruption if the customer is quarantined due to the Coronavirus. Coverage may be available for other benefits so please refer to your plan documents for applicable benefits, terms, conditions, limits and exclusions.

We strongly advise our customers to contact their travel providers before personally canceling or modifying their travel. Some airlines and hotel chains are allowing customers to make changes without charging extra fees or are allowing full cancellations with minimum penalties.  If your travel supplier agrees to make such changes, you can also change the dates of your travel protection plan by calling AXA at 1-855-327-1442.
