Happy Independence Day! Let’s Celebrate While Traveling!

July 4th is here! One of the most important celebrations for us is when it is time to honor our ancestors and celebrate the United States of America  becoming independent. Remember that this celebration dates back to July 4, 1776 when we ceased to be a British colony to be "the land of the free", a country with great influence, economic and political power, worldwide.

Since that time, our 50 states have proudly decorated in red, white and blue to celebrate this event with contests, music, hot air balloons, parades, picnics, food and fireworks.  At AXA Partners, we know that this is a special day, therefore, we want to suggest some cities that celebrate this event to the maximum so that, without a doubt, it will be unforgettable.

WASHINGTON D.C.: The capital will always lead the list! It is the city that concentrates most of the political power and history of our country. The celebration begins with a parade on Constitution Avenue featuring volunteers, military, balloons, equestrian contingents, and live music that will make you proud of being part of those who get to celebrate.

At Lincoln Memorial, you can see President Trump honor the armed forces and see an air show. Plus, you can take a tour around the city and participate in different activities; see the best concerts and eat great food. Do you enjoy seeing fireworks? Well, we suggest you to be at the Lincoln or Jefferson monuments at 9:00 PM sharp to have the best spot to see the fireworks.

NEW YORK: New Yorkers know how to party, and this is no exception. On this day, many choose to visit Long Island or Fire Island for a typical 4th of July  picnic. Even though many stores are closed on this day, you still have many options such as taking a one-day cruise to New York, participating in different tours throughout the city or visiting the Empire State or the One World Observatory. That way you can get the best view of the nearly 40,000 Macy’s fireworks that last about 20-25 minutes or watch them from the  Brooklyn Bridge Park (do plan ahead as many visitors arrive from the early hours of the day to have a good spot).

LAS VEGAS: The city that never sleeps begins its festivities on July 1. You can plan a trip with family, friends, or with that special someone, because in this city there will be celebrations for everyone such as pool parties, concerts, competitions in hotels, fireworks and the best shows. Don't miss out the 4th Annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade, the Caesar’s Palace fireworks that start around 9:15 PM or the live music from the famous Fremont Street. Any hotel of your choice will have a spectacle to admire.

PHILADELPHIA: "The Cradle of the United States," you can enjoy the Philadelphia Museum of Art fireworks show or the other two at Penn's Landing on the river pier, tour Old City, enjoy free Wawa Welcome America festival events. This year, enjoy a free concert with  Jennifer Hudson and Meghan Trainor at Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Don't wait any longer and pack your flags to celebrate this 4th of July together with AXA, your best Travel Adventure Partner. Get Your Travel Protection Plan today complete with Travel Insurance as well as Travel Assistance Services.
