Welcome to Our Travel Insurance Blog
Traveling is a wonderful experience that makes us enjoy many different ways. There are a thousand reasons to travel: to know new countries and cultures, to practice sports, to visit the family, to make a dreamed adventure come true or simply to rest in paradisiacal places. Every trip is special, and from AXA we want to help you discover new possibilities to enjoy traveling. Let's travel!!
SPRING BREAK IS HERE!
We are just a few weeks away from spring break, so it is time to start planning your trip. Look for flights, book your hotels and purchase a travel insurance policy to help protect your investment and finally start packing. This season is to party, relax and take that much needed time away to forget school, family and personal problems in a destination with sun, sea and sand.
Mexican beaches are among some of the most popular spring break destinations including cities like Los Cabos, Rosarito, Cancun or Puerto Vallarta. These destinations are where the beaches are beautiful, the nightlife is never-ending and the prices are reasonable. You may even choose an all-inclusive hotel and have even less to worry about.
Since spring break is a high season for travel, we recommend that you book your travel in advance and take into account some of the following tips:
FAMILY TRAVEL: If you are planning a nice, quiet family trip, we recommend looking for resorts that are more family oriented since the beaches will be packed with young people looking to de-stress.
FUN WITH RESPONSIBILITY: Avoid drinking in the streets, do not get into the ocean if you are drinking and do not drive under these conditions either. Always keep in mind that you are traveling to a foreign country where the rules, limits and regulations are different.
STAY SAFE: Although security during this season is reinforced, try not to be alone, travel in the company of friends and family so that everyone takes care of each other. Be careful to whom you give your information and do not go to unknown places with strangers.
INFORM YOURSELF IN ADVANCE: Although a popular season for parties, most of these destinations also have many attractions that you can enjoy such as zip lining, diving, whale watching, visits to archaeological sites, and much more. Look up additional attractions prior to your trip in order to guarantee the best prices and availability.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: You will be in a new country enjoying yourself, trying new things in a different climate and environment from the one you have back home. Therefore, you run the risk of being exposed to many situations that can potentially ruin your trip. Having a travel protection plan that provides coverage for lost and delayed luggage, travel delays, medical and evacuation expenses, among other coverages, can help provide an additional peace of mind.
YOUR HEALTH: Do not forget to hydrate yourself constantly and beware of those sunburns that could end up ruining the last few days of your vacation. We recommend purchasing waterproof sun screen lotion if you will be traveling to a popular beach destination.
BE MINDFUL OF YOUR BELONGINGS: Try not to lose sight of your cell phone and wallet. Fanny packs are making a comeback and we recommend purchasing one to keep your belongings close. In the event of an emergency or a strange situation, seek help from the local police and do not try to solve the situation yourself.
Spring break is the perfect time to forget about the stress of your semester, so enjoy your trip to the fullest and get to know the streets near the city centers where the nightlife is abundant, the food is delicious and the artisan crafts and souvenirs will leave you with a perfect memory of your spring break. Visit Mexico and you will not be bored for a second!
